Fallacy!!

Find the fallacy in this argument.
Hypothesis:
“The only rule of the world is that every rule has exceptions”

  1. Now the RULE says every rule has exceptions. The fact that this RULE holds true is an exception to itself so this RULE holds good.

  2. But then this RULE has an exception, the RULE itself. So how can this rule be true if it has an exception?
So is this a hypothesis or a rule or just an exception??

I deleted Sidd's original comment because it was unparliamentary... and I am pasting his comments in full except the offensive part... Sidd control yaar it's something different from SC Balcony

Tu saale ye prove kar ki kisi maa ka saga beta usse bada ho sakta hai......ko exception hai isme......***** *****?
this proves that all rules do not have exceptions...hence proved...
"All rules do not have exceptions....the boundaries/assumptions of the rule make the exceptions happen"

well ho sakta hai if... the mother was born on 29th Feb while son is not THEN technically it is possible ...well already reply kar diya tere query ka...

well as far as ur generalization... rules are something to be defined without boundaries ....anything that lies outside the boundary are the EXCEPTIONS...
anyways if u read again I am not generalising all rules in general I am giving a HYPOTHESIS and asking u to point out the FALLACY b/w the 2 stmts I have given for and against the HYPOTHESIS being a RULE.... makes sense, isn't it??

arrey yaaar KT.. jo exception aati hai.. usse catch karo...use try catch block...
ok seriously
jahan tak rule ka sawal hai...
every rule has an exception... so this rule also has an exception, say, the rule will be true 99% times.. it wil be untrue only 1% times when the exception occurs...So 99% of times All rules will have exceptions (when this rule doesnt have exception)... but 1% chance is there when the rules will not have exception... this 1 % is exception of your Rule... and Your rule is a part of all rules... so that means there is still a rule which has an exception.. hence this is untrue that all rules are exceptionless...

kuch samjh aaya ya dubara apni theopry explain karun??

I personally believe that the greatest truth is the one whose reverse is also the truth.

okay let's reverse it.... replace exception with rule and vice-versa everywhere...

The only EXCEPTION of the world is that every EXCEPTION has RULES!!!!

...well I think this would go on to mean that the concept of Matrix is really true... becoz Neo is the sum total of the remainder of a taylor's series.... such EXCEPTION in the form of a remainder governed by a RULE--->> NEO....

so u see the RULE here is the ultimate truth of NEO.... oopps. I mean EXCEPTION is the ultimate truth of nEO ( rem ??)

yeh sab kya ho raha hai.. yeh NEO aur matrix kahan se aa gaye????

KT said...

he he... thoda twist karne ki koshish ki hai.... reference: architect MATRIX RELOADED mein bolta hai ... ki matrix is a complex taylor's equation and har baar matrix destroy karke uska remainder NEO ko agle version mein upgrade karte hain

samjhaata hun

okay let's reverse it.... replace exception with rule and vice-versa everywhere...

The only EXCEPTION of the world is that every EXCEPTION has RULES!!!!

ab equation ka exception bole ya rule ka exception baat to ek tarah se ek hi hai...

leading this if all exceptions are governed by a rule then all remainders (NEO) are governed by an equation (the eqn of Matrix)....

so u see the RULE here is the ultimate truth of NEO.... oopps. I mean EXCEPTION is the ultimate truth of nEO ( rem ??)

hmm. kuch kuch samajh aaaya.. 12 baar duabra padhunga aur matrix 1 baar fer se dekhunga to shayad samjh aaye ;)
