They say sometimes even research is not enough.
I am planning to buy a laptop and somehow I'm hooked to DELL XPS laptop. I then researched a couple of websites (deals2buy and dell website) and did some comparison between 5 models of laptop and came up with the excel sheet below.

Now I am confused between these 5 models as well. So I throw it open to you, what do you think would be better or rather as I intend to choose, best. Now the first question that you'll throw at me is what are my needs.
तो अब एक software engineer की कितनी जरूरतें होंगी, थोड़ा सा programming, थोडी सी movies, थोडी मस्ती, बस और क्या। Just that I don't want to end up with a slow or a very heavy laptop , to me they are as good as pieces of junk. हांलांकि मैं विस्टा नहीं लेना चाहता लेकिन मेरे पास कोई विकल्प उपलब्ध नहीं हैं।

bhai yeh laptop chose karna to bahhut badi duvidha hai...
i remember my time too..
but 1 baat hai.. 1 saal ke baad sab lappies khassi ho jaate hain..
and in 2 years you wud love to throw that junk away..
so agar tu soch raha hai ki some processor ya some GHz is THE FUTURE.. and it will help u in adapting to future softwares... bhoool ja..
tune game khelni hai.. movie dekhni hai.... believe me.. coding kabhi nahi karega ;) so I wud go for Lappie 3 with an extra graphics card..(not sure kitna extra kharcha aayega) but without that bhi chalega.. u can play most of the games.. L3 halka bhi hai.. but us case mein again there is a fyt... if u go for halka then screen choti.. and vice versa.. agar u plan to keep it at ghar only then why bother abt weight??
vaise i bought a heavy wid badi screen(for movies) but now i repent as i have to move a lot with 3.2 kgs on my back!!
he he .... partly to true hai ... but ye to aisa moh hai jiske paar jaakar hi tere jaise moksha ki baatein kar paaunga... abhi to lagta hi hai lappy aaya aur coding bond ho jaayenge....
but the weight issue really haunts, when I was in UK I was given 3.5 Kg lappy and on my way I was giving it to fellow colleague who didn't have one. And he didn't want to take it because of weight and I was desperate to give it away because of the same.

I would have recommended Laptop 2 because of the large screen, but reading your intent to do some weightlifting, Laptop 3 should be a good choice. The choice is not that difficult, the other three are eliminated because of lower RAM sizes. So the choice is between screen size and weight now.
dude... forget Dell ... Thinkpad is the one to choose from ... R and T series make the dell envy ... believe me Dell has some really big issues in quality ... trust me I am a dell user and fed up with the quality
